Hi Jill. My name is Carey and I wanted to write you about using Great Wall. My husband and I just completed a Russian adoption through CHI (March 2008). Even though we've only been home four months, God is already stirring my heart (still working on Norman's) to adopt from China. For our first adoption (our son is our biological son), we looked at both China and Russia. The wait in China was over 2 years, so we choose to adopt from Russia. We know this was God's plan for us as our daughter is a perfect fit for our family. Even though we are familiar with Russian adoptions, this time we feel that our child is in China. As I began to research adoption from China, I looked at several agencies including CHI and Great Wall. Although we had a great experience with CHI, we also feel that God is leading us to Great Wall. I wanted to talk to you about the process, agency, etc. when you have time. My e-mail is russianfairytale@gmail.com. Our blog is russianfairytale.blogspot.com (we have not mentioned this on our blog yet). We look forward to talking to you. I'm so excited to hear of your referral for Drew. It is amazing how God orchestrates the adoption process to ensure you receive the child he had matched for you since the beginning (we had a friend who had chosen a girl on the Russian referral database (Russian website with available children) that she was in love with and show family/friends....come to find out this little girl was her referral).
I cannot wait to follow your journey to meet Drew and possibly talk to you about your adoption experiences with Great Wall. We (I too have asked Norman to pray about this matter) were hoping to begin the process this fall to have our documents (Dossier) ready for submittal at our one year adoption anniversary next March. At this time, we are considering waiting for a healthy referral although we adopted our daughter off the waiting child list through CHI.
I am a stay-at-home wife and mom. We just adopted our third child from China. We have been blessed with four children. I am married to my best friend who keeps my feet to the ground and keeps me sane! My children keep me laughing and young. We home-school and we are a military family. I am a child of God. This is our life and you are welcome to join us as I document it for our children.
